Who knows, maybe someone still uses the forums here. I sure do miss everyone being around. Anyway, I figured it was about time to getting this jet boat up and running. I’ve been working on it for the past couple days now. I’ve mounted steering controls, fwd/rev control, throttle, the start/stop/choke engine electrical, and some actual seating. I’m going to pull the carbs before I bother trying to run it since it’s been sitting for so many years now, but if weather cooperates I’m hoping to test run it sometime this coming week (if everything looks good with the carbs). Better late than never for an update, right???

Another fine night aboard the Funky Chipmunk not a bad barrel of fish for the first outing of the year. All I can say is this year is going to be interesting for Saginaw bay with the record high water levels we were fishing on what was dry ground not that long ago. Looks like Iím going to have to relearn my home waters since that marsh is almost recognizable compared to years past. The only thing that really concerns me for this year is one of my favorite launches that was really sheltered and made fishing with such a small boat on the bay without waiting for it to be dead calm possible was closed down this winter due to flooding Iím just hoping that itís opened back up at some point.

Hey guys new to this forum but looking for some advice and preferably a video or 2 I have a 1760 Triton aluminum with A 20 horsepower 40" Pusher Fan Love the boat and the way at fishes but Max speed on the fan is 4.5 to 5 And it doesn't get there quickly so chasing fish is out. I was really hoping someone could post a Video Of them running their fan. How quick can it get out of the hole. Top speed ect. If you guys don't think I can get what I need out of a fan I'll sell they fan and my outboard and drop to a surface drive some sort Or a kicker. Any advice would be helpful thanks

Manta Rays due to their larger size and not as many and where they live and are found, 2nd is that Manta rays are protected so can’t shoot them, we normally Bowfish cownose rays and southern rays....

I have been towing my 1860 tracker with a 90HP motor with a 1/2 ton Dodge Ram with the 5.7 L V-8. It tows it around with no issues. Gas mileage isn't the greatest but power isn't a problem. I recently purchased a new 2019 Ram 2500 with the 6.7L Cummins which is overkill for this boat. I'm giving the older 1/2 ton to my son, so we will probably use it still to tow the boat to the local lakes (I don't want stinking teenagers in my new truck) and use the 3/4 to tow it to our summer trip to Vermont. In my opinion, most 1/2 ton trucks should have no issue towing most bowfishing rigs. Even the heavier rigs as long as you have a towing package on it.

Don’t think there has been a confirmed case there yet I’m in west tn and it’s all around 1-2 cases per county till you reach the big cities Nashville,Memphis but a lot of towns around are shutting down all non essential businesses

I have.always been a little... Enthralled, i suppose you could say, by the idea of bowfishing. Mostly cuz I took archery before and that sh*t is HARD to do, though aiming anything has never been my strong point. In fact it's right up there with my directional sense. (Why yes, I HAVE gotten lost going in a straight line before, how did you know? To be fair I was driving down a dark road at night and missed my exit making me keep going in a straight line when I shouldn't have, but still. I had to call my niece and get directions home because I got lost going in a straight line😖 embarrassing) I can aim a bow though, I wondered if what you guys would recommend as the best starting gear for someone who is probably never going to be in any sort of pro league, but does take her fishing very seriously.

Honestly, if I were you guys, I would never buy anything but Hondas. A 6000btu a/c unit, later upgraded to a 8000btu unit that sees very frequent use. A medium-sized freezer/refrigerator unit -twice as big as a mini-fridge but smaller than a regular freezer-fridge unit. Two flood lights. Three overhead LED lights. A florescent bar. Two regular lights for the front and the generator. An LED bar for the storage/cooking shack. The powertool battery chargers. A car battery charger. Two desktops. An 11"x19.5" tv plus Xbox 360 and occasionally a Black and Decker tabletop convection oven. The generator is run 24/7 and only turned off once a week to change the oil. We've had it for a year and a half and it only now gave any indication that it knew what breaking down was. Did the troubleshoot. Adjusted the little plastic screw controlling the idle to where it said i should have it. It's up and running again, perfectly fine. Seriously, I live in Hawaii, this thing, plus the A/C, is the only thing keeping me from dieing in the summer.
