I was able to see one at the worlds and it looked nice. RB said it would be a few weeks for the pricing and some final things to be done to the bows but they should be comparable in price to the Oneida Osprey.

Now guys, we can't afford to stick a demo bow or 2 in every state, but Once we get going on sales and hopefully get a few dealers set up there should be more places to go and see one in person.

Thanks again for everyones feedback and great interest in what we are doing.

(7) ozs. more then Osprey, that has been removed & then some

My guess is they are looking to keep the price under that of the Osprey while retaining the added qualities we've come to want. Another good question is how about dealers. Will there be enough profit for them? I think it would be awesome to see some at the local archery shops, not like the Oneidas which are few and far in between.

Yes, our intention is to sell the Angler for less than the current price of the Osprey with options available to customize as you wish. We're also very hopeful we can get a pricing strategy that will allow dealers a good profit as well!

Well they did say that it should be less than the Osprey. So that's a plus. But on the other hand. As I am sure some of you have received an e-mail newsletter from Backwater stating.....

Quote:
Unfortunately we got the notification today from Oneida Eagle Bows that the minimum price dealers will be able to sell Oneida Osprey bowfishing bows is going up to $650 effective 8/15/2010. No dealer will be allowed to sell below that price or they could have their dealership removed. I'm passing this on because I want to make sure our customers have a chance to get the bows at the lower price while they still have a chance.
And that was received on the 10th in my e-mail box.

I hope 5150/ Gulf Coast is commited on staying well below old price ($599)and not the $650 price tag.

We've not been really active in this part of the forums lately, and it's for a good reason. I'll give everyone here as I have over at GCA/5150 a quick update, if that's what you can call it...

We feel we have addressed all of the issues that were present in the original prototypes and have made some other advances and refinements. We've explored many ideas and have created some ways to make machining a bit easier in order to keep our prices in check. We are currently exploring an opportunity that was presented to us that will really bring the Angler to life and make it readily available, and the best part, possibly cheaper than we had originally planned. If this opportunity realizes itself, there will be no doubt who the real king of the bowfishing ring will be!

We REALLY hate stringing you guys along as we know we have a winner of a bow. It's leading us into the further development of our other models (including the multi-purpose "hunting" bow) and that's a great thing. We just feel that this is something that is worth taking the time to explore, both for our good as a company and your good as a consumer (and supporter!). Rest assured that we are not dragging our feet or stumbling, but doing the necessary work to ensure that we enter the market with a bang and are there for the long run! Regardless of what others do, we will not develop a product in 2 weeks and depend on our consumers to be the guinea pigs to see if they work.

In the mean time, we greatly appreciate all of the confidence in us and the TONS of work that Boar continues to receive. Until the bows are released, the rebuilds and component sales are still our bread and butter, so to speak, which keeps GCA and 5150 moving forward. THANK YOU ALL!!

Thanks for the update. Heck I figure you've got at least 4-5 mo to figure it out since the season is about over. Sept 1 is opening day of dove season here and the bowfishing bow starts collecting dust. I'll knock the dust off a few times through the winter to chase huge buffs, but I'm pretty much done until Feb/Mar. Have it done by then and I'll be in line to buy it for next yr.

Not like we aren't try'n
it has been made perfectly clear though, that unless we bring an Angler to the table that retails for $597.00 DO NOT even bother to sit down

You have to give credit where credit is due. Everybody knows that bowfishing is growing and that we deserve a chance to be given a choice on the type of bows we choose. I am tired of seeing the hunting bows pushed over to our sport and told this is the best for our sport. It is great to see manufacturers trying to make the effort to accomodate our sport and make a bow that is suited best for us and not just seconds to hunting. My hat is off to all the companies that are geared to our sport first to make a quality product. Good Luck with your new product and we look forward to see it in the near future for the 2011 season or sooner. Keep us posted.
