I wouldn't go too gangster with the cant. It's rounded on the bottom with a groove in the bottom center. I shoot canted when the fish are close to the boat to clear the handrail on the boat for the bottom limbs for my osprey. But if you shoot canted all the time it would be a great rest to modify. Maybe you have another post welded on to the rest itself in a canted position.

Recurve shooters tend to cant more than compound shooters. As long as you don't have too much of a cant it will be alright.

I have been shooting a quickdraw since they hit the market and I shoot with a lot of cant in my bow. I do some pretty wild shooting around the troller to the other side of the boat and stuff and have had no problems. My arrows shoot bullet holes in the water even with the cant, If that is the way you are use to shooting don't change it will be fine.

Can someone explain what canting is? Newbie here!
![]() I just ordered one of these Quick Draw arrow rests from Backwater and would love some advice on the best way to set it up when it arrives. I am shooting a Darton Aquaforce compound bowfishing bow. I also shoot fingers with no sights. I have heard that some finger shooters choose to shoot this rest with their nocking point about 3/8" higher than level on the string for best results when tuning. Do you recommend the arrow being level when nocked up on the string or should the arrow have a slight downward (back to front) appearance when nocked? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm standing by! ![]() |

Canting is leaning the bow over to broaden your sight window.Start your nock point about 3/8" above center, and work your way up from there.Yes,the arrow should be tilting downhill toward the point end.
